Dear Parents and Friends of Harristown Primary School community,
Harristown Primary School has a proud tradition of offering the best possible educational opportunities for our students. Your child will complete their schooling well past the year 2010 which means they will require a school which prepares them for the future with the skills to contribute to our society.
Our co-educational school offers a number of opportunities for students to reach their full potential. These include:-
  • A commitment to ensure all students have numeracy and literacy skills that will allow them to participate in our society
  • Highly professional teachers with a commitment to quality learning
  • 2 hour uninterrupted literacy block in Years 1 - 4
  • An instrumental Music Program that offers students a choice of brass, woodwind, strings or percussion instruments
  • Totally integrated curriculum designed to engage lerners in real life experiences
  • Sporting opportunities to challenge outstanding athletes, with many students representing Darling Downs in various sports
  • Queensland's only Primary School Agricultural Studies Program
  • Specialist Intervention Programs that assist students needing support or extension with their learning
